The last run was 15min/mile or so.  So today me and Nalisa ran a little fast at 13min/mile.  I know this is not a killer pace but it is all I think my leg can take right now and it is killing me not to go more and faster.  Thanks Nalisa for pacing with me you are the best.

Colby told me that pickle juice can take away muscle cramps.  What the heck I figured I did not have anything to loose.  IT WORKED.  At least for today.  I ran better and did not feel the cramp coming back.  I do however feel a little ache in that calve muscle so I am very cautious about over doing it.

More pickle juice and trying to get up on my electrolites don't know if this is the cause of the achie, crampy calve muscle but figure I need to try somthing.  I am trying to go to a 1/2 marathon in St. George on the 21st and I need to figure this calve muscle cramp thing befor I can register.

This was a good run I was able to pace 2ea 9 min miles with an over all pace of 10min miles, so I felt perty good about that.

This was a nice easy run with Emilie and Nalisa.  We are in St George for the 1/2 marathon tomorrow.  We ran around the St. George Temple and felt the spirit there.  We will see what tomorrow brings.  I have done a few 5k's in Manti and traveled to Heber last February for a 10k but this is the first race of this magnitude that I have been to.  We are having some good family time though.

This was my first real race!!!  It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be.  My training runs have been negative splits.  I am partial to this strategy as it has served me well with the 50 and 100 mile endurance races I have done with the horses.

I was excited to be in sunny St George as it has been a lot of cold training runs in Manti.  And I was really excited to run in the day light.  Friday was such a nice day I was soooo excited for a good weather run.  The rain woke me up during the night and dashed a few hopes of perfect weather but after it was all said and done the weather was very nice and comfortable.

So here are the results according to my garmin 201

0.81miles @ 10:51, 2.08miles @ 10:21, 0.4miles @ 9.07, 3.89miles @ 9:30, 2.3miles @ 9:26, 2.48miles @ 9:00, 1.1 @ 8:00.

The 0.4miles @ 9:07 was some down hill that I just could not pass up the easy time.

I felt really good until just before mile 7 on the big hill this is when my bladder told me it was going to pop if I did not pay attention however the line was to big at the next aid station so I passed it up.  By the time the next aid station came around mile 10 or so I was really struggling.  However after relieving myself, and getting a glass of Gatorade I felt really good.

I finally caught up to the 2:10 pace setters.  It was good to run with them for a while they had to be the best group in the field.  Thanks Kim for being and inspiration to so many myself included.  My plan was to run the last mile at 8:30min/mile but I felt really good and left my energy on the trail with a 8:00min mile.  It felt really good.

I have concluded that my pace is very unique.  I did not see anybody else in the race that had a similar pace.  I think if they gave an award for the person who got passed by the most and then passed the most other runners I would get it.  I really enjoyed all the different conversations and seeing all the different people.

Don’t know what the next race will be but I still have a goal of running a marathon so the journey continues.

Ran negative splits I seem to handle that pace a little better.  I am tired after the run but I do not get to fatigued durring the run 1mile@10:45, 1mile@10:27, 2miles@9:46, 2miles@9:27, 2 miles@ 8:56, 1.33miles@8:32, 1.66miles@10:53.  I felt good at the 8:32 leg but I am glad I did not have to go much further.

Did not run neg splits just tried to keep my over all pace under 10:00min/mile and ended up right there.  This was a taxing run on me.  It has been a very hectic week, I have not felt top notch did not get a good nights sleep last night and I am not hydrated properly.  All of that being considered this was an awesome run with a great time.  I am not sure where all of this training is going as I have not committed to a marathon yet but maybe I will be ready when I decide to go to one.

Hey Terry, Great job on this run! Do you do your long runs on your own? Up here in SF its nice that we have a big crew every Saturday morning come rain or shine or hot or cold and almost always wind! It sure does help to have a posse! Get some of those Mantiites out and running with you!

So have you never ran a marathon? I was thinking you had but then was just looking at your goals and you have "marathon finish". If you haven't done one there are plenty out there to get looking at! Keep up the good work!

Lilo, over and out!

Another good run with Nalisa.  I have not been feeling well this week and have decided to take a few days off.  I hope the off time helps and does not hinder but this head cold has taken the energy out of me.

Did 2.5 alone and then 4 more with Nalisa.  I really enjoy running with her.  I have had a really bad head cold and it has taken the energy out of me so I am trying not to over do things but it was nice to run a few miles we will try some more tomorrow.

Another tough week.  I feel better I think I kicked my cold last week but my Dad was admitted to Utah Valley last week for emergency back surgery.  The back surgery went well but his recovery is not going very well.  I spent all week end at the hospital did not get much sleep and my run today was more to let cooped up steam off that to train for anything.  We will try to put some mileage on the board this week but it does not look good.

ps.  I like the new shoes and socks.
