| The last run was 15min/mile or so. So today me and Nalisa ran a little fast at 13min/mile. I know this is not a killer pace but it is all I think my leg can take right now and it is killing me not to go more and faster. Thanks Nalisa for pacing with me you are the best. |

Colby told me that pickle juice can take away muscle cramps. What the heck I figured I did not have anything to loose. IT WORKED. At least for today. I ran better and did not feel the cramp coming back. I do however feel a little ache in that calve muscle so I am very cautious about over doing it. |

More pickle juice and trying to get up on my electrolites don't know if this is the cause of the achie, crampy calve muscle but figure I need to try somthing. I am trying to go to a 1/2 marathon in St. George on the 21st and I need to figure this calve muscle cramp thing befor I can register.
This was a good run I was able to pace 2ea 9 min miles with an over all pace of 10min miles, so I felt perty good about that.

| This was a nice easy run with Emilie and Nalisa. We are in St George for the 1/2 marathon tomorrow. We ran around the St. George Temple and felt the spirit there. We will see what tomorrow brings. I have done a few 5k's in Manti and traveled to Heber last February for a 10k but this is the first race of this magnitude that I have been to. We are having some good family time though. |

This was
my first real race!!! It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be.
My training runs have been negative splits. I am partial to this strategy
as it has served me well with the 50 and 100 mile endurance races I have done
with the horses.
I was excited to be in
sunny St George as it has been a lot of cold training runs in Manti. And
I was really excited to run in the day light. Friday was such a nice day
I was soooo excited for a good weather run. The rain woke me up during
the night and dashed a few hopes of perfect weather but after it was all said
and done the weather was very nice and comfortable.
So here
are the results according to my garmin 201
0.81miles
@ 10:51, 2.08miles @ 10:21, 0.4miles @ 9.07, 3.89miles @ 9:30, 2.3miles @ 9:26,
2.48miles @ 9:00, 1.1 @ 8:00.
The
0.4miles @ 9:07 was some down hill that I just could not pass up the easy time.
I felt really good until just
before mile 7 on the big hill this is when my bladder told me it was going to
pop if I did not pay attention however the line was to big at the next aid
station so I passed it up. By the time
the next aid station came around mile 10 or so I was really struggling. However after relieving myself, and getting a
glass of Gatorade I felt really good.
I
finally caught up to the 2:10 pace setters.
It was good to run with them for a while they had to be the best group
in the field. Thanks Kim for being and
inspiration to so many myself included.
My plan was to run the last mile at 8:30min/mile but I felt really good
and left my energy on the trail with a 8:00min mile. It felt really good.
I have
concluded that my pace is very unique. I
did not see anybody else in the race that had a similar pace. I think if they gave an award for the person
who got passed by the most and then passed the most other runners I would get
it. I really enjoyed all the different
conversations and seeing all the different people.
Don’t
know what the next race will be but I still have a goal of running a marathon
so the journey continues.

| Another good run with Nalisa. We ran around the Temple and we are quite sure that we witnessed a marriage proposal but we did not have the courage to verify the event any way it was really cute. |
